just thinking about going linux, wondering if steam works, and if there are any other restrictions.

Steam does work on Linux. You will need to install "PlayonLinux" which has an installer which will allow you to install Steam. I was able to get it to work on my Linux box and I am able to play the games. I need to mention that not ALL games will work, therefore if you are a hardcore gamer you should consider Dual-booting your machine if you want to use Linux.

Uninstall Steam on Linux?

I now have thr Steam gaming software (beta) on Linux. I want to uninstall it. I don't want to use package manager. What is the code in terminal I can use to uninstall it?

If you are using a debian-based distro like Ubuntu or Linux Miint open your terminal and type "sudo apt-get remove steam" or whatever the binaries are called.

It runs pretty well. How it runs depends on your computer. If you have an old computer, games wont run fast, if you have a gaming computer it will run fast. I'm not sure they have as many games for Steam for Linux as they do for the other OS's. Other than the number of games, it's similar to steam for windows.
