How can I display Chinese fonts in Firefox on Linux?

I'm using Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 with KDE 3.4 and Firefox 1.5.0.4. I would like to see Chinese characters in addition to US English. I would like to keep my locale settings to UTF-8 and English.

on the firefox toolbar go to:- edit>preferences>advanced>edit languages>select a language to add then choose from the dropdown list & click ok.

Yes. Microsoft's Windows has many fonts and most of the fonts available for Linux are also in Microsoft's Windows. I do not know what it might be called in Microsoft's Windows, though. For best results, just use Linux only.

Is tahoma font default on linux or Mac platform?

Not exactly--niether operating system ships with that font--It's a proprietary Microsoft font.

You CAN get it legally for alternative OSs, though--along with other MS fonts. They have been made available for download by Microsoft. Check these search results:
